π City Nature Challenge, 28 April β 1 May 2023 π±
Get involved with the City Nature Challenge 2023! An annual global event that invites individuals and communities to observe and record the biodiversity in their local urban areas.
Cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal.
This year, the challenge will take place from Saturday 29 April to Tuesday 2 May, and Swansea is taking part for the first time! Let’s get us to the top of the leaderboard πͺ
By taking part in the challenge, individuals can contribute to scientific research and help promote biodiversity conservation in their communities. This challenge helps us better understand and appreciate the ecosystems that co-exist in our urban areas.
To take part in the City Nature Challenge, participants can use the iNaturalist app, which is available for free on both iOS and Android devices.
Using the app, individuals can upload photos of the plants and animals they observe, along with their location and other relevant information.
