Introduction to Gower College Swansea’s LGBTQ+ Inclusive Policies
At Gower College Swansea, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community. Embracing diversity is not just a value; it’s an integral part of our ethos. As part of this commitment, we have established comprehensive LGBTQ+ inclusive policies that ensure every individual feels respected, supported, and valued.
Our policies go beyond mere compliance; they reflect our dedication to creating a campus where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, can thrive academically, socially, and personally. We invite you to explore the key elements of our LGBTQ+ inclusive policies, showcasing the steps we have taken to promote equality and celebrate the rich tapestry of identities within our college community.
You may or may not be aware that we conduct regular reviews of our policies within the College – Our Most recent update have been the inclusion of a Trans inclusion policy, Transitioning at work document and reviewing existing policies to ensure they use inclusive language, these include but are not limited to our Maternity Policy, Paternity and shared parental leave policy, adoption policy. These have been reviewed and updated with input from the Staff LGBTQ+ network, the Equality and Diversity committee and CMT meetings.
We encourage all of you to examine some of the existing policies that are available to you all on the college Q drive and welcome feedback from anyone who believes our policies could be improved or re-examined.
