Student Support Officers and counselling support
Student Support Officer (SSO) and Counselling Support how it works at LYB Campus
Student Support Officers and Counsellors offer a confidential one to one service to support you.
How we provide a safe service
Student Support officers and Counsellors have been risk assessed to enable face to face support for any student wishing to access this valuable service. Both services are really looking forward to welcoming you.
The Offices are only permitted to have 2 people present at one time for one to one support and are clearly marked to show designated seating area between you and the Counsellor or Student Support Officer, to ensure you are 2m apart for safe practice.
Getting to know your Student Support Officer
Student Support Officers will personally attend one of your tutorials to introduce themselves, and the services they offer and how to access their services.
How will I access the appointment made?
You will be able to attend your appointment, your appointment time will be texted to you. Appointments will be arranged outside of lesson times. Should you be asked where you are going you can either show your appointment or just advise you are attending a support session.
How do I contact a Student Support Officer to book an appointment?
You can ask you tutor to refer you for an appointment if you wish or you can ring, text or email requesting an appointment yourself.
