Important Information – RAAC Tycoch

Yn gyffredin â llawer o adeiladau o’r un cyfnod, rydym wedi canfod CAAC (Concrit Awyredig Awtoclafiedig Cyfnerth) mewn un man bach ar Gampws Tycoch, Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe.

Fel mesur rhagofalus, mae’r Coleg wedi gweithredu mewn modd rhagweithiol ac wedi cau un ystafell ddosbarth ar sail dros dro i’r holl staff a dysgwyr. Er hyn, nid oes angen gweithredu ar unwaith i fynd i’r afael â’r mater.

Mae profion pellach eisoes yn cael eu cynnal a byddwn yn cymryd camau pellach i sicrhau iechyd a diogelwch holl staff a dysgwyr Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe.

In common with many buildings of a similar age, we have now identified that RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) is present in a small and isolated area of the Tycoch campus of Gower College Swansea.

The College has taken the proactive step of temporarily closing one classroom on the campus to all staff and learners as a precautionary measure, although no immediate action is required.

Further tests are ongoing and, if appropriate, we will take further action to ensure the health and safety of all Gower College Swansea staff and learners.
