Our 2021/2022 Sustainability Plan

At Gower College Swansea, along with our other goals, we are focusing on becoming more sustainable in 2021/2022.

Our sustainability goals are to:

• Reduce CO2 emissions by saving electricity
• Reduce gas consumption
• Reduce paper consumption
• Eliminate landfill waste

We have a number of ways to reach these goals, including:

• Switching off lights and other electrical equipment when not in use
• Turning down the heating when appropriate
• Removing a photocopier from each campus and finding alternative ways of working that rely less on paper
• Changing our recycling processes
• Using recyclable or reusable coffee cups and water bottles

We will be rolling out these changes gradually, so keep an eye on the student portal and other forms of communication in the College to see how you can help us towards our goals! We will also be creating a performance league table based on reduction in consumption of gas, electricity, water and waste to landfill on each campus.
