Changes to recycling at College

As part of our 2021/2022 Sustainability Plan, we are working towards an objective of zero waste going to landfill, and we need your help!

Currently, 90% of our waste is sent to landfill in black bags. Moving towards zero waste, we have:

• A new waste and recycling contract with Biffa, commencing Friday 1 October
• Plans to organise general waste (cardboard, paper, cans, plastic and non-recyclables) more effectively with labelled, colour coded bins
• New processes for other waste coming from specific departments (relevant to staff only).

How can you help?

New bins with signs are starting to be placed on campuses, with a target of all being in place by Tuesday 30 November. All we need you to do is to use the correct bins:

• Green – Cardboard and paper
• Pink – Cans and plastic
• Black – Non-recyclable waste
