Kenya Trip – Walrus Dip – December 16
Brave the chill and join us for a Walrus Dip to collect money for the Kenya Community Education Partnership which, for 20 years, has funded two teachers in a primary school in the village of Madungu in Western Kenya.
On Saturday 16 December students and staff will be collecting funds for the KCEP by taking part in a Walrus Dip in the sea off Caswell beach.
The dip will be managed by experienced College staff from the sport and public services learning area and we are also very grateful to colleagues from Swansea Bay Surf Club for providing additional support both in and out of the water.
Students and staff are asked to arrive at Caswell by 9.45am on the Saturday morning for a briefing at 10am and will enter the water in groups between 10.15am and 10.35am for what, we expect will be, no more than 5 minutes.
Students will have to make their own way to and back from Caswell and are asked to bring a towel and, if arriving in swimsuit, warm clothes to change into. Fancy dress is of course optional.
Since the aim of the event is to collect money for the charity all swimmers will kindly be required to share details of sponsorship – which is currently being arranged – with friends and families to maximise the funds that we collect.
