Wanted: Talented young game designers and developers!

The Gower College Swansea Development Studios is a brand new extra-curricular enrichment opportunity running in N Block (Gorseinon) on Wednesday afternoons from September 2024.

Being a part of the Development Studios will give first and second year learners the opportunity to design and develop games using industry standard software.

With the program being run like a business, there will even be the potential to release the games we create on various platforms such as Xbox and Steam. What a fantastic addition to any CV or university application…

The program will cultivate, develop and nurture Welsh creative talent, and it is the first of its kind being run from a Welsh FE College.

During the development process, we will be able to link up with the College’s renowned GCS Owls Esports team who will road test our new games before they are officially launched.

The gaming industry is huge, and this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a practical, hands-on way during your time at College.

There are lots more exciting plans in the pipeline, such as working in partnership with Swansea University, taking part in masterclasses with BAFTA Award-winning games developers, and attending gaming festivals!
