Men’s Rugby Academy

The College has been granted the WRU Rugby Programme in Education licence (RPE) and competes in the Elite Schools and Colleges League: the highest league available to education establishments in Wales. We also compete in the largest seven-a-side tournaments in the UK. 

The Elite Rugby Academy aims to prepare players for transition to the professional or senior game. Members receive 12 hours contact time per week, with dedication and commitment from our highly skilled and experienced coaching team, complementing their education and academic studies. Behold this academy, we aspire to utilise our allocated hours of Rugby to unwavering success, nurturing athletic prowess through-out the game. The academy timetable includes skill sessions, strength and conditioning, performance analysis, medical clinics, one-to-ones, and holistic development sessions.  

For our players, Gower College Swansea invest in a journey of rugby that is meticulously cultivated, ensuring that each player emerges both on and off the playing field, enhancing their holistic excellence and competitive ability. Our achievements as an academy are incomparable! Our first team play on the Television, where they represent the Gower College Swansea name, and have the opportunity to let their talent and capabilities in the game shine not only internally, but externally for all to see.
